Probably the most comprehensive photographic documentation in book form of Palmyra – the ruincity in the desert 215 km northeast of the capital Damascus in Syrien. A truly magnificent work that has no comparison. Each book is enclosed in a linen dressed slip case.
Why? The question goes to the author, Eric Ericson, who since 1996 made 13 trips to Syria to tell about the ancient ruincity. “I am a ruin romantic and Palmyra is such a beautiful and desolate place. The stones also breed thoughts of all civilizations transience. Just as we think for sure, the citizens of Palmyra thought that their society would last forever.”
